President - Andrea Nebel
Andrea Nebel, RN, BSN, CNLCP received her nursing degree in Switzerland, and started her career at the University Hospital of Zürich. She has 25 years of experience holding various clinical, educational and management positions in the health care industry. She moved to San Diego, California in 2004, and while continuing to work with oncology patients, became an Oncology Certified Nurse through the American Board of Nursing Specialties in 2008.
In 2015 Ms. Nebel left the hospital setting, inspired to grow professionally. She has been a practicing Nurse Life Care Planner and Case Manager since, providing services as a retained expert for both plaintiff and defense, including deposition and trial testimony as well as managing care for catastrophically injured individuals.
The American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners has not only provided her resources to strengthen her practice but also given her the opportunity to network and build relationships with colleagues in the field. She would be honored to have the opportunity to serve on the board.
Secretary – Richard Bays
Mr. Bays has served in numerous capacities in the healthcare industry ranging from clinical services and operations, healthcare bill & policy analysis, medical- legal consulting for healthcare attorney groups and oversight of accreditation, licensure and regulatory compliance programs. He specializes in economic aspects of healthcare litigation such as Life Care Plans, accounting and tax considerations, as well as reimbursement issues.
In the state of Texas, Mr. Bays has taught educational programs for the Texas State Department of Health Services and served as a Legislative Advisory Committee member for healthcare House and Senate bills. He also serves on the Regulatory Issues Expert Advisory Panel for the Texas Nurses Association.
Mr. Bays received his nursing degree from the University of the State of New York before going on to complete an MBA and his law degree. He also holds a certificate in finance from Yale University and has completed training for Medicare Set Asides and Life Care Planning. He is a frequent speaker at numerous conferences and has published articles on healthcare regulatory issues nationwide.
