Member At Large Duties
The intent of this policy is to facilitate opportunities to support the Association at a high level without the responsibility of an officer position. Individuals who choose to serve are willing to serve as role models; investing their time, talent, and treasures to support the success of AANLCP. While the following expectations are desired, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Executive Board. Members at Large are ex-officio (non-voting) board members however their contributions to meetings and communications are valued and appreciated.
Candidate Qualifications
- Served as an elected member of the Executive Board or on a committee, and/or
- Approved by the Executive Board based on similar professional experience.
General Criteria for all Candidates
- Hold current membership in AANLCP.
- No current restrictions on professional licensure.
- Evidence of participation in the organization preferred.
- Submit your interest and CV in a timely manner.
- Indicate ability to meet the demands and fulfill the duties inherent in the position.
Expectations of a Member At Large
Members At Large are expected to:
- Participate in AANLCP major events including: Conferences, fundraisers, and leadership meetings.
- Work to recruit new members through networking and meetings.
- Serve as a liaison to select committees and the executive board.
- Serve as a contact for members to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Represent AANLCP in a professional and favorable manner.
- Assume additional roles and responsibilities as assigned by the president.
Estimated Annual Time Commitment
Responsibilities and duties of the members at large positions (2 positions) are at the discretion of the Executive Board. Listed here are identified duties with estimated yearly time commitments needed to accomplish them.
- Monthly meetings (board and other)
- Interim board conference calls as needed / One on one calls as needed
- Responding to member inquires
- Assignments as directed by the president
Estimated Annual Time Commitment: 14-21 days
Terms of Office and Vacancies
A member at Large will serve a 2 year term. Absence from two consecutive regular quarterly meetings within a calendar year shall constitute an automatic resignation. Failure to be in attendance for 50% or more of a meeting shall constitute an absence.
