DESCRIPTION:Traumatic brain injury (TBI) poses significant challenges to individuals attempting to return to work due to cognitive impairments. Vocational assessment in TBI is a comprehensive\, systematic process used to evaluate an individual’s transferrable\, work-related skills\, limitations and support needs. This evaluation aims to identify vocational strengths and barriers\, determine job compatibility\, and recommend appropriate accommodations\, compensatory strategies and supports for successful employment outcomes. Effective Life Care Planning recommendations utilizes a combination of tools such as collateral interviews\, interprofessional collaboration with a Neuropsychologist and Vocational Expert. \n\nUnderstand importance of Neuropsychological Evaluation and Ecological Validity\nUnderstand the concept of transferable skills\nUnderstand development of compensatory strategies\, accommodations and supports.
