InspireĀ®: The New Frontier in Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea is a prevalent respiratory condition that affects millions of people around the world. The bedrock of therapy over the past few decades has been the use of positive airway pressure with CPAP/Bi-Level devices.

Objectives

  • The learner lists 3 sequelae of sleep-disordered breathing and describes the risk for and causation of obstructive sleep apnea in the brain-injured population.
  • Describe what is Inspire and why is Inspire is considered for a particular population.
  • Discuss Inspire as a therapy and its comparison with or without CPAP.
