Chronic Pain Therapies

Spinal cord stimulators have been FDA approved since the 1980s for chronic pain. We will review the indications for spinal cord stimulators including when it is appropriate to consider for chronic pain. Spinal cord stimulators are part of a 2 stage procedure, where there is a temporary trial and success with the trial determines if an implant is the next step. We will also review the importance of these devices for life care planners.

Objectives

  • What are important considerations should life care planners be aware of?
