Modifying a home to meet the needs of an individual varies from providing simple adaptations, such as durable medical equipment and portable ramps to full remodels incorporating Universal Design principles. Deciding on the most appropriate choices depend on many factors including the individual’s function, prognosis, home environment and goals. Utilizing the Person-Environment-Occupation framework, this session will review how to incorporate client-centered practice into creating a holistic plan to achieve accessibility and function in the home.
